Builder is the main application of eBdesk Corporate
Portal. It manages portal platforms such as servers,
users, organizations, roles, and personalization.
Personalization
Personalization
gives users flexibility to decide what they want to
get in their portal, therefore they can save their
valuable times. eBdesk allows users to set their logo
& greetings, color, button, themes, layout, menu,
content, position, language.
Organization
and Group
eBdesk
covers formal organizations (finance, marketing, production)
as well as informal groups (project, club, hobby)
in a company. All information can be shared between
organizations, even with organizations in other companies
(domains / servers / databases). Then, users can only
see information from shared organizations and groups.
Role
management
Role
is set of application privileges. Administrator can
create, assign, edit, delete role for groups / organizations,
then users can only access and use applications according
to their roles.

System
administration handles everything related
to portal infrastructure such as users management,
database management (backup, restore, repair), server
management, domain management
.
Indexing
and Search
Indexing
and search is the heart of a portal, since it allows
users to find portal contents easily. Users can do
full searching to eBdesk repositories (document,
mails, news, event, forum, etc). It supports
all popular documents format (plain, HTML, XML, doc,
xls, ppt, pdf, etc), with auto categorization for
given keywords and gives “Yahoo-like” directory services.
Content
Management
Allows
users to create categories of their contents that
will be their knowledge base (or “memories”). A category
can have many types of contents such as documents,
mails, discussions, pictures, events, news, etc. It
will be useful to create knowledge base of department,
project, or other entities.
Alert
& Messaging
Message
rule works across applications to distribute any information
or channels to mail, mobile phone SMS, messenger,
PDA, etc. Each users can set their own rules, schedule,
and what information / channels to be delivered.
Application
Connectors
Provides
seamless integration to other eBdesk products such
as eBdesk Groupware and SDK. It also provides connectors
to third party's products such as Microsoft Exchange,
Lotus Domino, SAP, Oracle Application, Siebel. Another
type of connectors are channel publishing for personal
applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook,
My Yahoo and other personal content services.
